The Embigin homolog protein often referred to simply as Embigin plays an important mechanical role within the cell. It is a transmembrane protein with a molecular mass of approximately 41 kDa. Researchers have observed Embigin expressed mostly in the tissues of the developing central nervous system and muscle tissues.
