RBP2 also known as KDM5A or Lysine Demethylase 5A functions as a histone demethylase enzyme specific for H3K4me3 and H3K4me2. With a mass of about 175 kDa it influences chromatin structure by removing methyl groups from histones which affects gene transcription.
