The protein TPD52L2 also known as Tumor Protein D52-like 2 and PrLZ plays a role in intracellular transport and secretion by interacting with membranes and acting as a vesicle-associated protein. It has a molecular weight of approximately 24 kDa. TPD52L2 gets highly expressed in several tissues including pancreas prostate and hematopoietic system. Moreover TPD52L2 localizes in cytoplasm and associates with secretory granules and lysosomal membranes.
Biological function summary
TPD52L2 contributes to processes such as cell proliferation and survival. It is associated with the regulation of exocytosis because of its presence in vesicles. TPD52L2 forms part of a broader protein family with conserved coiled-coil domains suggesting a capacity for protein-protein interactions.
