LLPH also known as L-Lactate Dehydrogenase A-like Protein plays a significant role in cellular metabolism by facilitating the conversion of lactate to pyruvate and back which is important for anaerobic and aerobic energy production. LLPH is approximately 42 kDa in mass. Expression of LLPH occurs in a variety of tissues including the brain liver and heart suggesting its involvement in numerous physiological processes.
