NAALADL2 also known as N-acetylated alpha-linked acidic dipeptidase-like 2 functions mechanically as a type II transmembrane glycoprotein. It participates in peptide hydrolysis and it is related to the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) family. The protein has an approximate mass of 85 kDa. Researchers have observed its expression in several tissues with a higher presence in the prostate and certain reproductive tissues.
