Macrophage Inflammatory Protein 1 gamma (MIP-1γ) also known as CCL9 functions as a chemokine involved in immune cell signaling. It weighs approximately 11 kDa. MIP-1γ attracts various immune cells to sites of inflammation within the body. The protein is expressed mainly in macrophages but you can also find it in other immune cells like dendritic cells.
