Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our
conjugation kits
for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar
Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar

ZP1 also known as Zona Pellucida Glycoprotein 1 is a protein that plays a mechanical role in the structure of the zona pellucida which is the extracellular matrix surrounding mammalian oocytes. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 66 kDa. ZP1 is expressed in the ovary particularly by ovarian oocytes. It is one of the critical components that provides structural integrity to the zona pellucida assisting in species-specific sperm binding and initial protection of the oocyte.
Biological function summary
The protein ZP1 facilitates oocyte-sperm interactions during fertilization. It works as part of a complex with other zona pellucida glycoproteins like ZP2 and ZP3. This complex is essential for the cohesion of the zona pellucida enabling its protective and interactive roles. ZP1 helps maintain the mechanical properties of the zona pellucida essential for successful fertilization and eventual embryo development.
Pathways
The protein ZP1 is involved in reproductive pathways particularly those regulating fertilization and early embryonic development. ZP1 interacts closely with ZP2 and ZP3 to form the zona pellucida matrix. This matrix is critical for the sperm binding and zona reaction pathways ensuring only one sperm fertilizes the oocyte. Without the proper function of ZP1 these pathways can be disrupted leading to fertility issues.
Abnormalities in ZP1 can lead to fertilization problems such as infertility or early embryonic loss. Mutations or deficiencies in ZP1 have been associated with conditions like oocyte maturation defects. These defects may connect with alterations in other zona pellucida proteins including ZP2 and ZP3 which can likewise affect fertility. Addressing these disorders often involves understanding the specific roles and interactions of ZP1 with these proteins aiming for potential therapeutic interventions.
