PTDSS1 also known as phosphatidylserine synthase 1 catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidylcholine to phosphatidylserine. This enzyme has a molecular mass of approximately 55 kDa and predominantly resides in the endoplasmic reticulum. It plays a role in lipid metabolism and is expressed in various tissues but is particularly active in the brain and liver.
