REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.
This product is subject to limited use licenses from The Broad Institute, ERS Genomics Limited and Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC, and is developed with patented technology. For full details of the licenses and patents please refer to our

ANKRD17 also known as Ankyrin Repeat Domain-containing protein 17 performs key mechanical roles within the cell. This protein weighs around 260 kDa. ANKRD17 is found throughout the human body with notable expression in the brain and liver. It functions importantly in the regulation of cell cycle and nucleocytoplasmic transport through its ankyrin repeat domains which allow interactions with other proteins.
Biological function summary
ANKRD17 engages in processes such as gene expression regulation and immune response. It is a member of protein complexes involved in these pathways. ANKRD17 modulates the transcriptional activity of certain genes and plays a part in antiviral response due to its role in signaling pathways that detect viral infections. These roles reflect its significance in maintaining cellular homeostasis.
Pathways
ANKRD17 participates mainly in the NF-κB and p53 signaling pathways. In the NF-κB pathway ANKRD17 interacts with proteins like IκB facilitating processes that control inflammation and immune responses. In the p53 pathway it associates with the p53 protein regulating cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. Its involvement in these pathways highlights its function in monitoring cell integrity and response to stress or damage.
ANKRD17 has associations with hepatocellular carcinoma and viral infections. It interacts with tumor suppressor proteins like p53 where its altered function can contribute to cancer development by affecting cell cycle control and apoptosis. In viral infections such as influenza ANKRD17's role in immune signaling can impact the body's ability to effectively respond to pathogens. Understanding these connections emphasizes its potential as a therapeutic target.
