REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.

C7orf44 also known as chromosome 7 open reading frame 44 functions at a mechanical level as a protein whose specific activities remain under active investigation. Although its precise actions are not fully understood the protein mass is approximately 25 kDa. Researchers have noted its expression across various tissues pointing to a broad involvement in cellular processes. Its functional role in these processes may vary according to where it is expressed suggesting diverse interactions in the cellular environment.
Biological function summary
The protein encoded by C7orf44 has been associated with cellular growth and maintenance functions. It is not yet confirmed as part of any known multiprotein complexes. Current research suggests that C7orf44 can intertwine with cellular pathways impacting growth regulation emphasizing its role in sustaining cellular environments. The broad expression hints at general cell function support rather than specialized organ-specific tasks.
Pathways
The protein's involvement in cellular growth ties it to important biological pathways such as signaling pathways regulating cellular proliferation and apoptosis. Although specific partners remain to be definitively identified the protein may interact with other regulatory proteins in these pathways. This positions C7orf44 as an intriguing target for further study in relation to cellular signaling mechanisms particularly with proteins influencing similar pathways.
Researchers investigate the link between C7orf44 and the development of cancers as well as metabolic disorders. Abnormal expression or mutations in this protein might contribute to cellular dysregulation observed in these diseases. Cancer studies particularly focus on interaction with tumor suppressor proteins which may reveal essential insights into its role in tumorigenesis. Understanding the precise relationship and mechanism of C7orf44 involvement could prove pivotal for therapeutic advancements.
