REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.
This product is subject to limited use licenses from The Broad Institute, ERS Genomics Limited and Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC, and is developed with patented technology. For full details of the licenses and patents please refer to our

GNG11 also known as Guanine nucleotide-binding protein gamma-11 belongs to the gamma subunit family of G-proteins involved in cell signaling. It has a molecular mass of approximately 8 kDa. GNG11 forms part of the heterotrimeric G-protein complex playing a role in transmitting chemical signals from outside the cell to its interior. Researchers find GNG11 expressed in various tissues including the brain heart and liver.
Biological function summary
GNG11 interacts with both the beta and alpha subunits within the G-protein complex to mediate signaling processes. It facilitates communication between receptors and downstream effectors influencing cellular responses. GNG11's presence in diverse cellular environments indicates it assists in modulating critical physiological processes like neurotransmission cardiac function and metabolic regulation.
Pathways
GNG11 integrates into the G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathway. This pathway plays a significant role in signal transduction affecting cellular response to external stimuli. GNG11 functions alongside related proteins like GNB1 (beta subunit) and a variety of G-protein alpha subunits influencing pathways linked to cyclic AMP production and phosphatidylinositol signaling. These pathways play important roles in diverse physiological processes including hormone response and sensory perception.
Certain research connects dysregulation of GNG11 with specific pathologies such as cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative disorders. Alterations in G-protein signaling pathways where GNG11 is a component may contribute to these conditions. Scientists explore its interactions with proteins like ATF6 which can influence the development or progression of these disorders providing potential therapeutic targets for intervention.
