Human CD11b ELISA Kit (ab277412) is an
in-vitro
enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Human CD11b in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants.
This assay employs an antibody specific for Human CD11b coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and Human CD11b present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Human CD11b antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of Human CD11b bound. The Stop Solution changes the color from blue to yellow, and the intensity of the color is measured at 450 nm.

CD11b also known as Integrin alpha M is a protein with a molecular weight of approximately 170 kDa. This protein functions mechanically as an important adhesion molecule. It forms a complex with CD18 to become part of leukocyte-specific beta2 integrins specifically the Mac-1 (CR3) receptor. CD11b is largely expressed on the surface of various myeloid cells including monocytes macrophages granulocytes and a subset of natural killer cells.
