Human IL-2 Receptor alpha is a 55 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein. The protein standard for this ELISA was designed on the extracellular fragment of the IL-2 Receptor alpha glycoprotein. IL-2 Receptor alpha is a receptor for interleukin-2 (IL-2) and is involved in the regulation of immune tolerance by controlling regulatory T cells (TREGs) activity. TREGs suppress the activation and expansion of autoreactive T-cells. Human IL-2 Receptor alpha shares 57.7%, 58.4%, 51.6%, and 91.3% sequence homology with mouse, rat, cow, and monkey, respectively.
