The Zika virus NS2B protein also known as ZIKV NS2B is a small non-structural protein with a molecular weight of approximately 14 kDa. This protein is part of the Zika virus polyprotein and becomes active through cleavage by viral proteases. NS2B acts as a cofactor enhancing the function of the viral NS3 protease which is important for viral replication.
