SLITRK5 also known as Slit and Trk-like family member 5 is a transmembrane protein with a mass of approximately 105 kDa. It is part of the SLITRK family which includes six members. SLITRK5 is expressed primarily in the central nervous system especially in the brain's regions like the thalamus and hippocampus. This protein is involved mechanically in axon guidance and synaptic organization playing a role in neural circuit development by influencing cell adhesion processes.
