TRIM31 also known as Tripartite Motif Containing 31 is a protein that has a mass of approximately 45 kDa. It belongs to the TRIM family characterized by a RING finger domain one or two B-box domains and a coiled-coil region. These domains allow TRIM31 to participate in ubiquitin E3 ligase activity where it catalyzes the transfer of ubiquitin to substrate proteins. Typically it is expressed in tissues such as the liver lung and intestine and plays a role in protein homeostasis by regulating protein degradation.
Biological function summary
TRIM31 functions in cellular processes such as the innate immune response and cell proliferation.
