TIM 1 also known as T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain 1 is a cell surface protein with a molecular mass of approximately 70 to 80 kDa. It is expressed predominantly in activated T cells and some epithelial cells. TIM 1 plays an important role in immune regulation and can be found at the surface of cells in various tissues including the liver and kidney.
