Mouse Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF), also known as mouse CSF-3, is a growth factor and pleiotropic cytokine that influences cells from the bone marrow to differentiate, proliferate and activate the neutrophilic granulocyte lineage (Neutrophils). Mouse G-CSF is produced primarily by monocytes and macrophages upon activation and is measured and tested for differentiation studies. Mouse G-CSF belongs to the IL-6 superfamily and is a polypeptide chain containing 179 amino acids and has a molecular weight of 19 kD. It is naturally produced by the body and is also available as an injection. Human and mouse G-CSF proteins share 76% sequence identity at the amino acid level.
