The MojoSort™ Magnet allows the separation of magnetically labeled cells. It accommodates 30 x 115 mm (50 mL) conical tubes. The magnetic field generated inside is sufficient for the isolation of up to 4 x 10 9 cells and can fit up to 40 mL of cell suspension. Warning: Pacemaker wearers must stay away at least 12 in (30 cm) from magnet. Keep away from computers, tools, and other objects that respond to magnetic fields. Warning: Heavy object! Magnet has a weight of approximately 5 lbs (2.5 kg) and may be heavy for some users. Recommendation is to use both hands while pouring or use a serological pipet to draw cell suspension out of tube while magnetic force is applied. BioLegend also offers the MojoSort™ Magnet 5mL (Cat. No. 480019) and 15mL (Cat. No. 480020) to accommodate other tubes and separation volumes.

Q: Is there a way to detach your magnetic particles from the cell surface?
A: MojoSort™ Nanobeads: These magnetic particles cannot be removed from cells. This includes standalone Nanobeads and MojoSort kits using Nanobeads. We have found that cells are functional without the need to detach the magnetic Nanobeads.

MojoSort Microbeads: These magnetic particles may be released following the detailed product-specific protocol.

A: MojoSort Nanobeads: the average diameter is approximately 130 nm.

MojoSort Microbeads: the average diameter is approximately 1 μm.
Q: Are MojoSort™ Nanobeads compatible with other commercially available magnetic separation systems?
A: MojoSort™ magnetic particles can be used with other commercially available magnetic separators, both free standing magnets and column-based systems. Because MojoSort™ protocols are optimized for the MojoSort™ separator, the protocols may need to be adjusted for other systems.  Please contact BioLegend Technical Service for more product-specific information and guidance. We do not recommend using MojoSort™ particles for BD’s IMag™ or Life Technologies’ DynaMag™.
