CD73 (cluster of differentiation 73) is a membrane-bound glycoprotein and ectoenzyme. To activate adenosine signaling CD73 catalyzes the hydrolysis of AMP generated by CD39 to adenosine. This role makes CD73 crucial to the regulation of purinergic signaling and immune homeostasis and response. CD73 also serves a variety of physiological functions including lymphocyte binding, epithelial ion transport, ischemic preconditioning, tissue-barrier function, T cell activation, and tissue homeostasis. Overexpressed in several cancers and implicated in tumor progression, metastasis, and the impairment of anti-tumor immune response via adenosine signaling, CD73 is a target of interest in cancer therapy. It is also a potential immunotherapy target for the treatment of pain, inflammation, and hypoxia.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 0.1 - 1.0 µg/mL is suggested. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 1.0 - 10.0 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Additional Product Notes: For use in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (IHC-P), it is recommended to perform antigen retrieval using Citrate Buffer, 10X (Cat. No. 420902) or Tris-EDTA pH 9.0 Antigen Retrieval Buffer (10X) (Cat. No. 422704). In Western Blot, this antibody does not cross react with mouse CD73. This product is not recommended for use in immunocytochemistry (ICC) or intracellular flow cytometry (ICFC) due to dim signal.
