KCNA5 is a potassium voltage-gated ion channel with 6 transmembrane spanning domains, also known as Kv1.5, belonging to the shaker-related subfamily of potassium channels. It forms tetrameric potassium selective channels that open or close based on the voltage difference across the membrane. Potassium channels contribute to a diverse set of functions depending on the cell type and localization, some of which include: regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, smooth muscle contraction, neuronal excitability, and much more.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 1.0 - 10 µg/ml is suggested. For Western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 1.0 - 10 µg per ml. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: This antibody is effective in immunoblotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue (IHC-P). Clone is less reactive in human samples in IHC-P applications.
