Programmed cell death protein 4 (PDCD4) is a multifunctional tumor suppressor, which inhibits cell growth, metastasis and induces apoptosis by interacting with numerous factors. PDCD4 binds with eukaryotic initiation factors EIFAI and EIFAII, inhibiting their RNA helicase activity and cap-dependent translation, thereby impeding protein synthesis. PDCD4 localizes to the nuleoplasm of cells. Diseases linked to PDCD4 include Bardet-Biedl syndrome and colorectal cancer.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.125 - 1 µg/mL. For immunocytochemistry, a concentration range of 1 - 5 μg/mL is recommended. For immunoprecipitation, the suggested use of this reagent is 2.5 µg/test. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: Clone recognizes human and mouse PDCD4.For ICC testing, HeLa cells were fixed in 4% PFA and permeabilized with either Triton X-100 or methanol; both methods produced strong staining at 1 mg/mL.
