TEC is a part of the non-receptor protein tyrosine kinases subfamily which includes Bmx, Itk/Tsk/Emt, Rlk/Txk, and Btk proteins. As a non-receptor protein kinase, TEC contributes to signaling from many receptors and acts as a signal transducer in multiple downstream pathways, this includes the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. The enzyme’s primary location in mammalian tissues is the plasma membrane. It is involved in regulating the development, function and differentiation of conventional T-cells and nonconventional NKT-cells.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.5 - 1.0 µg/mL. For immunoprecipitation, the suggested use of this reagent is 2.5 µg/test. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: This clone was tested for ICC using HeLa cells treated with control siRNA or siRNA targeting TEC. While staining was observed, it was not responsive to TEC protein depletion using siRNA, indicating the staining was non-specific. We therefore do not recommend this clone for ICC.
