UNICORN 7 DoE License UNICORN™ 7 control software is a scalable software supporting systems from small-scale research through clinical- and full-scale manufacturing. • Ease-of-use : The intuitive user interface simplifies evaluation and control through the interactive process picture*. • Flexibility : Adjust the system and software to fit your needs by adding more features and modifying methods. • Efficiency : Share methods and results, and access systems remotely. • Data security : UNICORN™ 7 software keeps data secure through robust database handling. Architecture UNICORN™ 7 control software has four main modules: Adminstration, System Control, Method Editor and Evaluation. The Adminstration module is used to set up a system, add additional components, create and manage users of the database and perform database backup functions. System Control is used for viewing and interacting with active runs, engaging with the interactive process picture (if available), and for manual runs. The Method Editor is used to create methods (recipes) for your system, using predefined templates and phases or a text editor. The Evaluation module is used to view result files and perform analysis on the results. Methods and results are stored in an SQL database. You can install UNICORN™ software on individual computers or on a network to share methods and data between all users and systems. Additional modules and functionality Additional functionality can be added to fit your needs. Free plug-in extensions can be found on the Cytiva Marketplace site. Additional items may require an separate e-license. The Design of Experiment (DoE) tool is used with ÄKTA avant™ chromatography systems. The UNICORN™ software trending tool is used with the Evaluation module for comparison of data from high throughput rapid cycling runs. A Column Logbook license allows the user to track usage of each column to manage cleaning and replacement per the user’s SOP. The optional Evaluation Classic module has additional analysis tools for result files. E-license requirements Every system requires a workstation license, sold separately. For process deveopment work with ÄKTA avant™ system, choose the ÄKTA avant workstation license which includes the DoE license and Column logbook license or the more comprehensive process development license package. Access methods and result files in the database from your office using a Dry license. Access your systems from anywhere on the network using a Remote license. For customers in academia, process development, manufacturing or when using the filtration or WAVE™ systems, license packages are available that include a set of e-licenses that provide typical functionality needed. Networking and database management UNICORN™ control software supports a network installation that allows remote control, floating licenses and centralized administration of data.
