TRIM5 promotes innate immune signaling and that this activity is amplified by retroviral infection and interaction with the capsid lattice. TRIM5 has 6 variants termed alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, and iota with the MW of 56 kDa, 46 kDa, 40 kDa, 37 kDa, 31 kDa and 29 kDa.
