TAF12 plays a key role in regulating eukaryotic gene expression by directly binding promoters and enhancer-bound transactivator proteins. Likewise, TAF12 recruits Gadd45a and the nucleotide excision repair complex to the promoter of rRNA genes leading to active DNA demethylation. Observed MW of TAF12 is from 14-17 kDa and 17-21 kDa.
