High expression of NOL12 is associated with worse reduced overall survival (OS), high pathological grade, node metastasis, and advanced clinical stage in patients with HCC (PMID: 35693698). Knockdown of NOL12 impairs cellular proliferation by inducing a G1/S cell cycle arrest, but does so outside of a nucleolar stress response and in a p53-independent manner (PMID: 29069457).
