The GABP complex plays a role in the regulation of gene transcription by binding to specific DNA sequences. GABPB2 specifically contributes to the transactivation of target genes (PMID: 18628204). The protein is primarily located in the nucleus. It is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues, including testis, ovary, and others. Studies have shown that GABPB2 is dispensable for normal lymphocyte development but moderately affects B cell responses (PMID: 18628204). Mice deficient in GABPB2 exhibit increased B cell proliferation and antibody production in response to certain stimuli. The molecular weight of GABPB2 is 48 kDa.
