FOXJ2 participates in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and migration by targeting downstream genes through its DNA binding domain, and plays fundamental roles in embryonic development, tumorigenesis, and the progression of certain cancers. The expression patterns of FOXJ2 have been reported to be aberrant in a variety of cancers, including breast cancer, extra-hepatic cholangiocarcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, glioma, and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 28769576, PMID: 33725831, PMID: 35908066).
