After translation, GAA undergoes proteolytic processing to form two lengths of lysosomal α-glucosidase, and both N-terminal and C-terminal processing occur. Typically, GAA is synthesized as an immature glycoprotein precursor (110 kDa) in the endoplasmic reticulum and undergoes a seriesof proteolytic and N-glycan processing events to yield an intermediate (95 kDa) and two lysosomal (76 and 70 kDa) isoforms. This antibody can detect the 110 kDa precursor form.
