The QIAGEN Vacuum Pump is suitable for all standard laboratory vacuum procedures (capacity 20 L/min, 6 mbar vacuum abs). The Vacuum Pump, in combination with QIAvac vacuum manifolds, enables vacuum processing of many QIAGEN nucleic acid purification kits. Vacuum-driven liquid processing is an attractive alternative to centrifugation that minimizes the hands-on time needed for sample preparation. For optimal pressure, the pump must be used with a Vacuum Regulator . The QIAvac Connecting System has been specifically designed for use with the Vacuum Pump and the QIAvac 24 Plus vacuum manifold, allowing sample flow-through, containing possible infectious material, to be collected in sealed waste bottles. The QIAvac Connecting System together with the QIAvac 24 Plus vacuum manifold proved to be an ideal tool in studies evaluating the performance of QIAGEN’s CE-certified clinical diagnostic kits. For best results, the Vacuum Pump should be used together with the QIAvac Connecting system .
