Product Description

Sep-Pak Alumina N Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a neutral surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This neutral alumina is suitable for applications such as synthetic crude oil fractionation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

Additional Information
Sep-Pak Alumina N 3 cc Vac Cartridge, 500 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 50-300 µm, 50/pk An extremely active grade of alumina with neutral surface chemistry is found in Sep-Pak Alumina N Vac cartridges. The aluminum oxide surface possesses the characteristics of a Lewis acid and offers an exceptionally polar surface for analyte retention. In terms of application, this normal phase sorbent is comparable to silica; however, it is somewhat more stable than silica that has not been functionalized at high pH levels. This neutral alumina is appropriate for uses like fractionating synthetic crude oil. The vacuum manifolds and automatic SPE equipment are intended to be used with these syringe-barrel-type cartridges. Alumina comes in three different forms: Alumina A, Alumina B, and Alumina N, depending on how the sorbent's surface has been treated. Specific interactions between aromatic hydrocarbons' pi-electrons and alumina can be observed. This makes it very practical for uses like fractionating crude oil. Acidic and basic grades can be employed as low-capacity ion exchangers in aqueous media, unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, depending on your needs. The Sep-Pak Alumina N Classic Cartridge is a Classic-style cartridge that may be quickly and easily attached to vacuum-assisted flow devices using a male/male adaptor. It is intended for use with positive displacement by a Luer-tip syringe. To guarantee repeatable separations, certified Sep-Pak Alumina N cartridges are subjected to quality control. By lowering the likelihood of background interferences, which are a common occurrence in SPE devices, the cartridges offer superior performance for ultra-low level analyte detection. The Sep-Pak Alumina N Classic Cartridge can be used with Sep-Pak columns with "Neutral" sorbent and normal phase. The Sep-Pak Alumina phase has various uses. Running analyses on food and feed additives, synthetic organic compounds, pesticides, herbicides, priority pollutant isolation, and alternatives to established AOAC and EPA methodologies are just a few of the uses. They can sustain a particle size of 50-300µm and a pore size of 120 Å, carry sorbent weight of 1850mg per cartridge, and support a volume of up to 1.8mL.
