Mitochondrial Staining Reagent - Blue | Cytopainter (ab219940) is one of a series of fluorogenic probes to label mitochondria of live cells. The MitoBlue Indicator selectively accumulates in mitochondria in live cells and can be easily detected at Ex/Em = 350/490 nm (DAPI-filter compatible). The mitochondrial indicator is a hydrophobic compound that easily permeates intact live cells and becomes trapped in mitochondria, where it can be retained in mitochondria for a long time thanks to its cell-retaining group.
Cells stained with MitoBlue Indicator can be further fixed in aldehyde for use in multi-color or long-term staining experiments.
