This antibody recognizes the V5-tag fused to either the amino or carboxy terminus of targeted proteins in transfected cells. This antibody detects exogenously expressed V5-tagged proteins in cells expressed under a CMV promoter. Expression under other promoters has not been evaluated. Species Reactivity: All Species Expected Source / Purification This recombinant chimeric antibody is engineered from V5-Tag (D3H8Q) Rabbit mAb #13202 according to animal-free protocols. The chimeric antibody retains its antigen-binding Fab regions from the original rabbit monoclonal antibody but contains a horse-derived Fc domain. When multiplexing, Fc-directed rabbit secondaries are required to detect rabbit-host primary antibodies. The parent antibody, V5-Tag (D3H8Q) Rabbit mAb #13202 is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic V5-tag peptide.
