Oasis MCX 96-well Plate, 10 mg Sorbent per Well, 30 µm, 1/pk With dual modes of retention, the sulfonic acid MCX enables greater cleanup selectivity and sensitivity for basic compounds. The Oasis MCX 96-well Plate contains the Oasis MCX sorbent, a novel, mixed-mode polymeric sorbent that has been optimized to achieve superior results in basic compounds with cation-exchange groups. Built upon the water-wettable Oasis HLB Copolymer, the MCX sorbent offers both reversed-phase and ion exchange modes of retention. Oasis MCX (mixed-mode cation exchange) sorbent has a tightly controlled ion-exchange capacity (1 meq/g). With no silanol groups to complicate the retention mode or method development, the sorbent remains stable from pH 0-14, allowing simple and fast method development. It features two retention mechanisms, cation exchange and reversed-phase, which can be manipulated predictably. Along with the pH stability offered, Oasis MCX has greater binding capacity than silica-based mixed-mode SPE sorbents. With the ability to fully manipulate pH during development, optimization, and use of SPE methods on mixed-mode sorbent, chromatographers will achieve fast and straightforward methods development along with rugged and robust procedures. Loss of recovery and analyte breakthrough do not occur due to dissolving silica particles at high pH or cleaving bonded at low pH. As part of the Waters Oasis family of products, this plate helps to simplify and improve sample preparation through a combination of the right sorbent chemistry, device format, and methodology. Waters uses a novel and tightly controlled production process to reproducibly deliver Oasis MCX with 1.0 meq/g of sulfonic-acid-ion-exchange capacity.
