Triethanolamine borate(TEAB) is a water-solubleecofriendly catalyst that can be prepared by the reaction of boric acid andtriethanolamine in aqueous solution. It possesses a Lewis pair (boron as Lewis acid, tertiary amine as Lewis base). It is widely used in the field of catalysis, corrosion inhibition,lithium-ion secondary batteries, and flame-retardant polymers. It can be formed from the 1:1 aqueous solution of boric acid and triethanolamine.
