NLRP11 also known as NALP11 is part of the NOD-like receptor (NLR) family which includes proteins involved in immune system regulation. It weighs approximately 116 kDa. This protein is expressed in the cytoplasm of various tissues with higher levels detected in reproductive tissues such as the ovaries and in immune-related tissues. NLRP11 has a tripartite structure comprising a PYD domain a NACHT domain and leucine-rich repeats which enables it to participate in protein-protein interactions.

NLRP11 engages in innate immune responses by modulating inflammatory signaling pathways. It is part of the inflammasome complex although its exact role within this complex is less understood compared to more studied members like NLRP3.
