The protein PIP5K1C also known as phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase type-1 gamma has a mass of approximately 75 kDa. This enzyme plays a critical role in the phosphatidylinositol signaling pathway where it catalyzes the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P) to produce phosphatidylinositol 45-bisphosphate (PIP2).
