SSX4 also known as Synovial Sarcoma X breakpoint 4 is a protein belonging to the SSX family of proteins. This protein has a molecular weight of approximately 22 kDa. It is typically expressed in testicular tissues but also appears in various tumors. Like other SSX proteins SSX4 contains a characteristic KRAB domain suggesting its involvement in transcriptional regulation processes.
Biological function summary
The function of SSX4 extends to the regulation of transcription. It may act as a transcriptional repressor and participate in chromatin remodeling.
