L2/HNK-1 Carbohydrate also known as CD57 antigen is a glycan structure recognized for its role in cell-cell interaction processes. This carbohydrate moiety has a distinct structure that includes sulfated glucuronic acid followed by a linear poly-N-acetyllactosamine. It usually appears in the nervous system as well as certain subsets of immune cells especially on natural killer (NK) and T lymphocytes.
