Conjugation ready
Our carrier-free antibodies are typically supplied in a PBS-only formulation, purified and free of BSA, sodium azide and glycerol. This conjugation-ready format is designed for use with fluorochromes, metal isotopes, oligonucleotides, and enzymes, which makes them ideal for antibody labelling, functional and cell-based assays, flow-based assays (e.g. mass cytometry) and Multiplex Imaging applications.
Use our
conjugation kits
for antibody conjugates that are ready-to-use in as little as 20 minutes with 1 minute hands-on-time and 100% antibody recovery: available for fluorescent dyes, HRP, biotin and gold.
Compatibility
This product is compatible with the Maxpar
Antibody Labeling Kit from Fluidigm, without the need for antibody preparation. Maxpar

Cathepsin W also known as CTSW is a member of the cysteine protease family. It has a molecular mass of approximately 45 kDa and functions as an enzyme that breaks down protein substrates through proteolysis. CTSW displays specificity for certain peptide bonds in its target proteins. This protein is mostly expressed in the immune system especially in cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells. The expression pattern suggests its involvement in immune responses.
Biological function summary
Cathepsin W contributes to the modulation of cytotoxic activity. It assists in the rearrangement and processing of proteins important for the immune response facilitating the proper functioning of immune effector cells. While not part of a specific protein complex CTSW activity aligns with immune cell regulation mechanisms. Its role in the degradation of proteins plays a significant part in maintaining immune cell competency.
Pathways
Cathepsin W contributes to the immune response and apoptosis. The immune response pathway involves cytotoxic T cells and natural killer cells where CTSW enhances the degradation of target proteins. In apoptosis the protein functions in the breakdown of cellular components that need recycling or removal. Cathepsin W shares functional similarities with related proteases such as Cathepsin C which also participates in immune cell regulation and apoptosis.
Cathepsin W has relevance in immunological diseases and some cancer types. Altered activity of CTSW may associate with impaired immune responses contributing to immunodeficiency conditions. In certain cancers such as leukemia changes in CTSW expression could influence the behavior of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes. Proteins like granzyme B which are involved in inducing apoptosis might interact with CTSW reflecting their shared pathways in modulating immune responses and disease progression.
