REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.
This product is subject to limited use licenses from The Broad Institute, ERS Genomics Limited and Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC, and is developed with patented technology. For full details of the licenses and patents please refer to our

STK38L also known as Ndr2 is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family and shares similarities with other Ndr family members. This protein plays a significant mechanical role in several cellular processes including regulation of cell growth and cell division. STK38L has a molecular mass of approximately 54 kDa. Researchers have observed its expression in various human tissues such as liver kidney and heart indicating its widespread functional roles in the body.
Biological function summary
STK38L acts as an important regulator by coordinating cell cycle-related activities and influences apoptosis. It is known to participate as part of the larger signaling complex interacting with scaffold proteins to ensure proper cell function. The protein mediates these biological processes through phosphorylation impacting various signaling networks and helping cells respond to different physiological conditions effectively.
Pathways
STK38L integrates into key signaling pathways such as the Hippo pathway which is essential for controlling organ size through the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. This pathway involves other proteins like MST1/2 and LATS1/2 which closely interact with STK38L to maintain cellular homeostasis. The interaction with these proteins illustrates STK38L's critical positioning in cellular communication networks affecting the pathway’s outcome on cellular behavior.
STK38L is associated with certain cancers and neurodegenerative disorders. Aberrant function or regulation of STK38L may contribute to the development of conditions such as hepatocellular carcinoma and Alzheimer's disease. BRCA1 and Tau proteins are related to these diseases where STK38L’s interaction with or regulation of these proteins can influence disease progression providing potential therapeutic targets for intervention.
