P38-interacting protein (p38IP) functions mechanically as a scaffold protein that interacts with p38 MAPK aiding in its regulation and stabilization. It is occasionally referred to as MO25. The molecular mass of p38IP is approximately 50 kDa. Expression of p38IP is observed in various tissues with notably high levels in the brain and the heart.
