MCP-1 also known as CCL2 is a chemokine involved in the recruitment of monocytes to sites of injury and inflammation. This protein consists of 76 amino acids and has a molecular weight of about 11 kDa. MCP-1 is expressed in a wide range of cell types including endothelial cells fibroblasts and monocytes.
