Interferon omega is a type I interferon. It is a secreted monomeric glycoprotein distantly related in structure to Interferon alpha and Interferon beta. Interferon omega is expressed in and secreted from virus-infected leukocytes. Biological activity of Interferon omega, Interferon alpha and Interferon beta is mediated by Type I Interferon Receptor Complex.
