Rat IL-1Ra ELISA kit (ab282875) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Rat IL-1Ra protein in rat cell culture supernatant samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Rat IL-1Ra with 6.95 pg/mL sensitivity.

Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra), encoded by the
gene, is a cell surface receptor and a member of the interleukin-1 cytokine family. IL-1Ra inhibits the activity of IL-1 by binding to receptor IL1R1 and preventing its association with the coreceptor IL1RAP for signaling. However, IL-1Ra has no IL-1 like activity. Studies have shown the absence of IL-1Ra allows unopposed action of IL-1, resulting in life-threating systemic inflammation with skin and bone involvement thus suggesting IL-1Ra to play a role in modulating pro-inflammatory responses.
