PIP5K3 also known as PIKFYVE is a lipid kinase with a significant role in the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate to phosphatidylinositol (35)-bisphosphate. This protein weighs approximately 237 kDa and is predominantly expressed in the cytoplasm of a variety of cell types.
