Orosomucoid 2 also known as Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein 2 is a serum glycoprotein with a molecular mass of approximately 41 kDa. The protein is expressed mainly in the liver but it is also present in macrophages and other tissues. It serves primarily as an acute-phase protein during inflammation and other stress responses indicating changes in the concentrations in the blood plasma. Researchers often study it in correlation with Orosomucoid 1 due to the similar roles of these two proteins in the body.

Orosomucoid 2 involves itself in the modulation of the immune response and drug binding. It binds many drugs and endogenous compounds influencing their bioavailability and activity. As part of the extracellular matrix it interacts with other proteins and structures in the body.
