CXorf21 also known as chromosome X open reading frame 21 is a protein encoded by the CXorf21 gene. This target has a molecular mass of approximately 38 kDa. CXorf21 is known to be expressed widely in human tissues with notable expression in immune-related tissues such as the spleen and peripheral blood leukocytes. It functions mechanistically in cellular processes through its role as an integral membrane protein although specific binding partners and exact cellular functions remain active areas of research.

CXorf21 is involved in the modulation of immune responses. It participates in processes involving immune cell signaling and may act as a receptor or activator in immune pathways.
