Avi-tag is a 15 amino acid sequence, and the minimal acceptor peptide of a larger protein domain that serves as a substrate for the biotin ligase BirA from E. coli . Although one of the major advantages of Avi-tag fusion proteins is a controlled biotinylation in this domain, Avi-tag is also a useful tool in cell and molecular biology.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.125 - 1.0 µg/mL. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.125 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. For immunocytochemistry, a concentration range of 1.25 - 5.0 μg/mL is recommended. For immunoprecipitation, the suggested use of this reagent is 2.0 µg/test. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: This clone recognizes proteins tagged with Avi-tag sequence irrespective of its biotinylation status.
Additional Product Notes: Antibody concentration per application is subject to the Avi-tag-recombinant protein. Titration is required for every specific protein.
